Glen Lake Community Schools Announces Vacancy on Board of Education
4/18/2025 - Maple City, MI Glen Lake Community Schools is currently seeking qualified and community-minded individuals to fill a vacant seat on the Board of Education. This vacancy offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of education for our students and families.
The vacancy stems from the recent resignation of current board of education member Rick Schanhals. Rick has been an extremely valuable member of our board of education and a steadfast advocate for Glen Lake staff, students and families. He is also a great person who we genuinely thank for his six years of service at Glen Lake; and 18 years as a board member in public schools. He will still be around town having a positive impact on our community. The term runs through December 31, 2026 with an election in November of 2026.
Interested candidates must: Be a registered voter in the Glen Lake Community School District. Be at least 18 years of age.
