I am a Leelanau County native. After graduating from Glen Lake in 2001, I moved to Georgia where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Kennesaw State University. I then completed my Master’s Degree in Reading Specialization from Nova Southeastern University shortly after. I feel extremely blessed to be teaching in the school I was raised in and attended K-12. I have always enjoyed working with children and helping them reach their fullest potential. I remember especially how fun it was to be a part of the Big Pals (back then called Hero’s) program! I’m excited to be able to make an impact daily in our little Lakers’ hearts. 

I have an amazing husband, Donald, whom I married in 2007. We have 4 boys: Jaden, Skylar, Christian, and Asher, who are all part of the Laker family now. We enjoy spending time with family, camping, movies, helping out at our family meat store (Mikowski’s in Karlin), and playing games- basically anything where we can create memories together.
